Part 1    Preliminary

1   Short title

This regulation may be cited as the Nature Conservation and Other Legislation (COVID-19—Extension of Fee Waiver) Amendment Regulation 2020.

2   Commencement

This regulation commences on 1 October 2020.

Part 2    Amendment of Forestry Regulation 2015

3   Regulation amended

This part amends the Forestry Regulation 2015.

4   Amendment of s 35 (Fees)

Section 35, ‘The’—
omit, insert—

5   Insertion of new s 39A

After section 39—
insert—

39A   Commercial activity permit—daily activity fee waived for COVID-19 emergency

(1)This section applies in relation to a daily activity fee mentioned in schedule 6, item 4(c) that is payable under the Act—

(a)by the holder of a commercial activity permit other than for filming or photography; and

(b)in relation to an activity for a day in the period starting on 1 October 2020 and ending on 31 March 2021.

(2)Payment of the fee is waived for the holder.

Part 3    Amendment of Nature Conservation (Protected Areas Management) Regulation 2017

6   Regulation amended

This part amends the Nature Conservation (Protected Areas Management) Regulation 2017.

7   Amendment of ch 8A, pt 3, hdg (Refund of fees)

Chapter 8A, part 3, heading, after ‘Refund’—

8   Insertion of new s 159AZA

After section 159AZ—

159AZA    Waived additional daily fee for commercial activity permit for COVID-19 emergency

(1)This section applies in relation to an additional daily fee mentioned in schedule 7A, item 10(e) that is payable under the Act—

(a)by the holder of a commercial activity permit other than for filming or photography; and

(b)in relation to an activity for a day in the period starting on 1 October 2020 and ending on 31 March 2021.

(2)Payment of the fee is waived for the holder.

Part 4    Amendment of Recreation Areas Management Regulation 2017

9   Regulation amended

This part amends the Recreation Areas Management Regulation 2017.

10   Amendment of s 51 (Fees generally)
