Nature Conservation Amendment Act 2013

An Act to amend the Nature Conservation Act 2002

[Royal Assent 20 June 2013]

Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:

1Short titleThis Act may be cited as the Nature Conservation Amendment Act 2013 . 2CommencementThis Act commences on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent. 3Principal ActIn this Act, the Nature Conservation Act 2002 is referred to as the Principal Act. 4Section 32 amended (Prohibition on introduction, &c., of certain animals) Section 32 of the Principal Act is amended as follows: (a) by omitting from paragraph (a) of the penalty under subsection (2) "not less than 200 penalty units and"; (b) by omitting from paragraph (a) of the penalty under subsection (2) "not less than 2 years and" and substituting "of"; (c) by omitting from paragraph (a) of the penalty under subsection (3) "not less than 200 penalty units and"; (d) by omitting from paragraph (a) of the penalty under subsection (3) "not less than 2 years and" and substituting "of"; (e) by omitting from paragraph (a) of the penalty under subsection (7) "not less than 200 penalty units and"; (f) by omitting from paragraph (a) of the penalty under subsection (7) "not less than 2 years and" and substituting "of"; (g) by omitting from paragraph (a) of the penalty under subsection (13) "not less than 200 penalty units and"; (h) by omitting from paragraph (a) of the penalty under subsection (13) "not less than 2 years and" and substituting "of". 5Repeal of ActThis Act is repealed on the three hundred and sixty fifth day from the day on which it commences.
