PROCLAMATION
NEW SOUTH WALES

I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, A.C., Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Native Title (New South Wales) Act 1994, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 28 November 1994 as the day on which Parts 1, 2, 3, 10 and 11 of, and Schedule 1 to, that Act (except the amendments to the Land and Environment Court Act 1979, items (7)— (11) of the amendments to the Mining Act 1992 and item (5) of the amendments to the Petroleum (Onshore) Act 1991 in that Schedule and section 107 of that Act in its application to those amendments and items of amendments) commence.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
The object of this Proclamation is to commence Parts 1, 2, 3, 10 and 11 of, and Schedule 1 to, the Native Title (New South Wales) Act 1994 with the exception of all of the amendments to the Land and Environment Court Act 1979 and those of the amendments to the Mining Act 1992 and the Petroleum (Onshore) Act 1991 that relate to the exercise of jurisdiction by wardens’ courts as recognised State/Territory bodies.

The Parts of the Act that are commenced deal with preliminary matters, validation of past acts attributable to the State and the effects of validation, confirmation of certain rights, interim provisions and miscellaneous matters.
