Native Title (National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Land Fund) Regulations

I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council and under section 4 of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901, make the following Regulations under the Native Title Act 1993.

Citation

 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Native Title (National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Land Fund) Regulations.

Commencement

 2.These Regulations commence on 1 July 1994.

Interpretation

 3.In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears:

“fund” means the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Land Fund established by subsection 201 (1) of the Native Title Act 1993.

Fund is a trust account

 4. The fund is a Trust Account for the purposes of section 62A of the Audit Act 1901.

Appropriated money to be paid into the fund

 5. Money that is:

• (a)

  appropriated by an Act for the purchase and management of land for Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders for social, cultural or economic purposes; and

• (b)

  expressed by that Act to be for payment to the relevant trust account;

is to be paid into the fund.
