REGULATIONS UNDER THE NATIONAL SERVICE ACT 1951-1953.*
I,
THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the
advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations
under the

Amendments of the National Service Regulations.
(
a ) by omitting the words—“Part II.—Registration. (Regulations 4-18)”—
and inserting in their stead the words—
“Part II.—Registration. (Regulations 3a-18)”; and
(
b ) by omitting the words—“Part IX.—Miscellaneous. (Regulations 46-50)”—
and inserting in their stead the words—
“Part IX.—Miscellaneous. (Regulations 46-53)”.
“3a. Persons not being British subjects but being persons ordinarily resident in Australia—
(
a ) who were, or are, in Australia on a date which has been, or is, specified by the Minister in a notice published in theGazette for the purposes of sections 10 and 11 of the Act as the date for registration of persons who, on that date, were, or are, British subjects and ordinarily resident in Australia; and

b ) who have been in Australia for a period of not less than twelve months or for periods which in the aggregate are not less than twelve months,
constitute
a prescribed class of persons for the purposes of sub-paragraph (ii) of
