REGULATION UNDER THE NATIONAL SECURITY ACT 1939-1943.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation under the National Security Act 1939-1943.

Amendment of the National Security (Supplementary) Regulations.

The National Security (Supplementary) Regulations are amended by adding at the end thereof the following regulation:—

Commonwealth Loans Director.

“134.—(1.) There shall be a Commonwealth Loans Director who shall be appointed by the Treasurer and shall hold office for such term as is specified in the instrument of appointment and on such conditions as the Treasurer thinks fit and shall be paid such salary and allowances as the Treasurer determines.

“(2.) The Commonwealth Loans Director shall not be subject to the Commonwealth Public Service Act 1922-1941.

“(3.) The Commonwealth Loans Director shall, during the present war, have the direction and control of such matters in relation to public loans as are from time to time referred to him by the Treasurer.”.
