REGULATION UNDER THE NATIONAL SECURITY ACT 1939-1940.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation under the National Security Act 1939-1940.

Amendment of National Security (Supplementary) Regulations. 

The National Security (Supplementary) Regulations are amended by adding at the end thereof the following regulation:—

Continuance in office of members of Auctioneers’ &c. Council.

60. Notwithstanding anything in the Auctioneers Stock and Station and Real Estate Agents Act, 1941, of the State of New South Wales, the Premier of that State may, by order published in the New South Wales Government Gazette, make provision for and in relation to—

(a) the continuance in office of the members of the Council first constituted under that Act for such period as is specified in the order; and

(b) the suspension of the provisions of that Act relating to the preparation of rolls until such date as is appointed by the Premier, by notice in the New South Wales Government Gazette:

Provided that an order made under this regulation shall not be effective to authorize the continuance in office of any person for more than twelve months after His Majesty ceases to be engaged in war.”.
