REGULATIONS UNDER THE DEFENCE (TRANSITIONAL PROVISIONS) ACT 1946–1949.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Defence (Transitional Provisions) Act 1946-1949.

AMENDMENTS OF THE NATIONAL SECURITY (STAFF OF WAR-TIME AUTHORITIES) REGULATIONS. 

Overtime.

1. Regulation 11 of the National Security (Staff of War-time Authorities) Regulations is amended by omitting from paragraphs (c) and (d) of sub-regulation (7.) the words " Seven hundred and sixty-eight pounds per annum in the case of males and Seven hundred and six pounds per annum in the case of females " and inserting in their stead the words " Nine hundred and fourteen pounds per annum in the case of males and Eight hundred and fifty-two pounds per annum in the case of females ".

Duty on holidays

2. Regulation 12A of the National Security (Staff of War-time Authorities) Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (1 A.) the words " Six hundred and twelve pounds per annum in the case of males and Five hundred and fifty pounds per annum in the case of females " and inserting in their stead the words " Nine hundred and fourteen pounds per annum in the case of males and Eight hundred and fifty-two pounds per annum in the case of females ".

Sunday duty

3. Regulation 12B of the National Security (Staff of War-time Authorities) Regulations is amended by omitting from paragraph (b)of sub-regulation (5.) the words " Six hundred and twelve pounds per annum in the case of males and Five hundred and fifty pounds per annum in the case of females " and inserting in their stead the words " Nine hundred and fourteen pounds per annum in the case of males and Eight hundred and fifty pounds per annum in the case of females ".

 Being, the Regulations having that title as in force under the Defence (Transitional Provisions) Act 1946-1949, as amended by Statutory Rules 1947, Nos. 6 and 128 ; 1948, Nos. 21, 98 and 127 ; and 1949, Nos. 35, 101 and 102. The Regulations under the National Security Act 1939-1946 having the corresponding title comprise StatutoryRules 1941, No. 273, as amended by Statutory Rules 1942, Nos. 108 and 179 ; 1943, Nos. 59, 88, 105, 189, 233 and 285 ; 1944, Nos. 8 and 169 ; 1945, Nos. 8, 21, 119 and 166 ; and 1946, Nos. 102 and 143.

Commencement.

7.—(1.) Regulations 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 of these Regulations shall be deemed to have come into operation on the seventh day of October, 1948.

(2.) Regulation 6 of these Regulations shall be deemed to have come into operation on the fourteenth day of July, 1949.
