REGULATIONS UNDER THE DEFENCE (TRANSITIONAL PROVISIONS) ACT 1947.*

 

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Defence (Transitional Provisions) Act 1947.

AMENDMENTS OF THE NATIONAL SECURITY (SHIPPPING CO-ORDINATION)

REGULATIONS. 

Parts

1.

Regulation 4 of the National Security (Shipping Co-ordination) Regulations is amended by omitting the words " Part V.—Stevedoring Industry Commission.".

Definitions

2.

Regulation 5 of the National Security (Shipping Co-ordination) Regulations is amended by omitting the definitions "‘Shipping authority’ and ‘the Stevedoring Industry Commission' or 'the Commission’ ".

Powers and functions of the Director or of Board

3.

Regulation 6 of the National Security (Shipping Co-ordination) Regulations is amended by omitting the words " any shipping authority" and inserting in their stead the words "the Board ".

Members of Parliament who are members of the Board.

4.

Regulation 7 of the National Security (Shipping Co-ordination) Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting the words "any shipping authority" and inserting in their stead the words "the Board"; and

(b) by omitting the words "the shipping; authority" (twice occurring) and inserting in their stead the words "the Board".

Regulation 9 of the National Security (Shipping Co-ordination) Regulations is amended by omitting the words " any shipping authority" and inserting in their stead the words “the Board”.

  Being the Regulations haying that title as in force under the Defence (Transi­tional Provisions) Act 1946, as amended by Statutory Rules 1947, No. 144. The Regulations under the National Security Act 1939-1946 having the corresponding title comprise Statutory Rules 1944. No. 86, as amended by Statutory Rules 1944, No. 113 and 126; and 1945, Nos. 47, 69 and 204.

Regulation 12 of the National Security (Shipping Co-ordination)

Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (1.) the words

"any shipping authority" and inserting in their stead the words "the

Board".

Regulation 49 of the National Security (Shipping Co-ordination) Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (1.) the words "The Board shall" and inserting in their stead the words "The Board may".
