REGULATIONS UNDER THE NATIONAL SECURITY ACT 1939–1940.*
I,
THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the
advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations
under the National Security Act 1939–1940.

National Security (Meat Industry Control) Regulations.
Citation.
1. These Regulations may
be cited as the National Security (Meat Industry Control) Regulations.
Administration.
2. These Regulations shall
be administered by the Minister of State for Commerce and Agriculture.
Exercise
of powers and functions of Australian Meat Industry Commission by Chairman.
3. Subject to the
directions and control of the Minister, the person who, immediately prior to
the disallowance of the National Security (Australian Meat Industry Commission)
Regulations, was the Chairman of the Australian Meat Industry Commission
constituted under those Regulations may, for a period of thirty days from and
including the date of commencement of these Regulations, exercise all the
powers and functions conferred on the Australian Meat Industry Commission by
the first mentioned Regulations.
Application
of certain provisions of disallowed Regulations.
4. The provisions of
regulations 39, 40 and 42 of the National Security (Australian Meat Industry
Commission) Regulations shall apply in relation to orders, requirements,
directions and notices under these Regulations in the same manner as they
applied to orders, requirements, directions and notices under the
firstmentioned Regulations.

Officers
and employees.
5. Every officer or
employee appointed under the National Security (Australian Meat Industry
Commission) Regulations and holding office or employed under those Regulations
immediately prior to the disallowance of those Regulations shall continue to
hold office and to be employed as if appointed by the person specified in
regulation 3 of these Regulations in pursuance of the powers conferred by these
Regulations, and shall be entitled to receive the pay to which he would have
been entitled if the firstmentioned Regulations had not been disallowed.
