STATUTORY RULES.
REGULATIONS UNDER THE NATIONAL SECURITY ACT 1939–1943.*
I,
THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the
advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations
under the

Amendments of the National Security (Meat Industry Control) Regulations.
“‘State Meat Advisory Committee’ means a State Meat Advisory Committee constituted under these Regulations”.
“10a.—(1.) The Minister may appoint in any State a State Meat Advisory Committee consisting of the Deputy Controller for the regional area constituted by or including that State and such other persons as the Minister thinks fit.
“(2.) A State Meat Advisory Committee shall advise the Deputy Controller on such matters relating to the meat industry as the Minister, the Controller or the Deputy Controller refers to the Committee.
“(3.) A Deputy Controller shall be Chairman of the State Meat Advisory Committee of which he is a member”.

“33.—(1.) There shall be payable to any member of the Committee or of a State Meat Advisory Committee, and to the Controller and the Deputy Controllers, salaries, fees and allowances at such rates (if any) as the Governor-General directs.
“(2.) Where any member of the Committee or of a State Meat Advisory Committee, or the Controller or a Deputy Controller, is an officer of the Public Service of the Commonwealth, no salary, fee or allowances shall be paid to him under this regulation except under the authority of the Public Service Board.
“(3.) Notwithstanding anything contained in this regulation, if a member of the Committee or of a State Meat Advisory Committee is also a member of the Parliament of the Commonwealth, he shall not be entitled to be remunerated in respect of his service as a member of the Committee or of the State Meat Advisory Committee, but shall be entitled to be reimbursed such expenses as he has actually incurred by reason of his attendance at meetings of the Committee or of a State Meat Advisory Committee”.
