STATUTORY RULES.
REGULATIONS UNDER THE NATIONAL SECURITY ACT 1939–1943.*
I, THE
GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the
advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations
under the

Amendments of the National Security (Commonwealth War Housing Trust) Regulations.
“4. In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears—
‘the Director’ means the Director (Housing Administration), Department of Works and Housing;
‘the Trust’ means the Commonwealth War Housing Trust.”.
(
a ) by omitting paragraphs (b ) and (c ) of sub-regulation (1.) and inserting in their stead the following paragraphs:—“(
b ) the Director, who shall be the Executive Member of the Trust; and(
c ) a member, who shall be appointed by the Minister.”; and

b ) by adding at the end thereof the following sub-regulation:—“(3.) In the event of the illness or absence of the member of the Trust referred to in paragraph, (
c ) of sub-regulation (1.) of this regulation, the Minister may appoint a person to be the deputy of that member, and the deputy, at any meeting of the Trusty shall have and may exercise, during the illness or absence of the member, all the powers and functions of that member.”.
(
a ) by omitting from sub-regulation (2.) the word “Secretary” and inserting in its stead the words “Director-General, Department of Works and Housing,”; and(
b ) by omitting from that sub-regulation the words “Labour and National Service” and inserting in their stead the words “Works and Housing”.
(
a ) by omitting sub-regulation (3.); and(
b ) by omitting from sub-regulation (5.) the words “the Secretary or, in his absence,”.
