REGULATIONS UNDER THE NATIONAL SECURITY ACT 1939-1943.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the National Security Act 1939-1943.

Amendments of the National Security (Australian Tobacco Leaf) Regulations.

Administration.

1. Regulation 2 of the National Security (Australian Tobacco Leaf) Regulations is amended by inserting after the word “Commerce” the words “and Agriculture”.

Australian Tobacco Board.

2. Regulation 4 of the National Security (Australian Tobacco Leaf) Regulations is amended by omitting from paragraph (d) of sub-regulation (1.) the words “one person” and inserting in their stead the words “two persons”.

Meetings of the Board.

3. Regulation 7 of the National Security (Australian Tobacco Leaf) Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (3.) the word “five” and inserting in its stead the word “six”.

Appointment of officers.

4. Regulation 12 of the National Security (Australian Tobacco Leaf) Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (4.) and inserting in its stead the following sub-regulation:—

“(4.) The salaries and conditions of employment of officers appointed in pursuance of this regulation shall be such as are, subject to the approval of the Public Service Board, determined by the Australian Tobacco Board”.
