REGULATION UNDER THE NATIONAL SECURITY ACT 1939-1940.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation under the National Security Act 1939-1940.

Amendment of the National Security (Aliens Control) Regulations.

Obligation on aliens to register.

Regulation 5 of the National Security (Aliens Control) Regulations is amended by adding at the end thereof the following sub-regulation:—

“(5.) An alien, or the parent or guardian of an alien, who has, whether before or after the commencement of this sub-regulation, failed to comply with this regulation shall be subject to a fresh obligation to register himself as an alien, or to cause the person of whom he is the parent or guardian to be registered as an alien, as the case may be, in accordance with the provisions of these Regulations (other than the provisions regarding the time within which registration shall be effected) on every day after that failure until he has so registered himself or caused that person to be so registered, as the case may be.”.
