National Parks and Wildlife Regulations2

(Amendment)

I, THE ADMINISTRATOR of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation under the National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act 1975.

Insertion of Part IIIa

After Part III of the National Parks and Wildlife Regulations the following Part is inserted:

PART IIIa—CONSERVATION ZONES

Application of Regulations in relation to conservation zones

“16al. The provisions of subregulations 4 (1), (2) and (3) and regulations 7, 7d, 12, 20a and 20d apply in relation to conservation zones as they apply in relation to parks and reserves and, for the purposes of that application, the references in those provisions to a park or reserve shall be read as references to a conservation zone.

Exemptions

“16am. Nothing in subregulation 4 (1), (2) or (3) or regulation 7, 7d or 12 applies in relation to:

(a) the Director, a ranger or a warden acting in the performance of his or her duties as Director or as a ranger or warden, as the case requires, in relation to a conservation zone; or

(b) an approved person acting in the performance of his or her duties as an officer or employee of the Northern Territory or of an authority of the Territory in relation to a conservation zone.”.
