His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974.

Explanatory note

The National Parks and Wildlife Amendment (Abercrombie, Jenolan and Wombeyan Karst Conservation Reserves) Act 1997 (the amending Act) inserts (among other provisions) section 75B in the National Parks and Wildlife Act I974. One of the effects of that section is to require the Jenolan Caves Reserve Trust (which is established by the amending Act) to prepare plans of management in relation to lands dedicated as (or as part of) a karst conservation reserve whose care, control and management is vested in that Trust. The section also requires notice of the preparation of such a plan of management to be given “as prescribed”, and allows the making of representations in connection with the plan of management.

i n particular, under section 155. Section 155 is the general regulation-making power i n relation to parks (which include, for the purposes of that section, karst conservation reserves).

The object of this Regulation is to prescribe the way in which the requisite and,

notice is to be given.

1 Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the National Parks and Wildlife (Administration) Amendment (Plans of Management) Regulation 1997.

2 Amendment of National Parks and Wildlife (Administration) Regulation 1995

The National Parks and Wildlife (Administration) Regulation

1995 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.

Clause 20 Notice of preparation of plans of management: sections 75 and 75B

Insert at the end of clause 20:

(2) If a plan of management has been prepared for any Jenolan Caves Reserve Trust lands, the Jenolan Caves Reserve Trust must give the notice required by section 75B (2) by an advertisement published in the Gazette.
