REGULATIONS UNDER THE NATIONAL HEALTH ACT 1953-1971.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the National Health Act 1953-1971.

National Health (Variation of Benefits) (No. 3) Regulations

Citation.

1. These Regulations may be cited as the National Health (Variation of Benefits) (No. 3) Regulations.

Commencement.

2.These Regulations shall come into operation on the first day of November, 1971.

Definition.

3. In these Regulations, “the Act” means the National Health Act 1953-1971.

Act to have effect as varied.

4. The Act shall have effect as if—

(a)the following paragraph were inserted after paragraph 6 of the First Schedule;—

“7. Where an item in the table in this Schedule includes the symbol ‘(D)’, the item shall be taken to relate to the service specified in the item when rendered in an operating theatre of an approved hospital in the course of dental practice by a legally qualified dentist or dental practitioner approved by the Director-General for the purposes of the definition of ‘professional service’ in sub-section (1.) of section 13 of the Act.”; and

(b) the tables in the Schedules were varied as set out in the Schedule to these Regulations.
