1  Name of Instrument

This instrument is the National Health Security (National Notifiable Disease List) Amendment Instrument 2016 (No. 1).

2  Commencement

This instrument commences on the day after it is registered.

3  Authority

This instrument is made under subsection 11(3) of the National Health Security Act 2007.

4  Schedule(s)

Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.  

Schedule 1—Amendments

National Health Security (National Notifiable Disease List) Instrument 2008

1    Division 2.5 of Schedule 1 (table items 2.5.9 to 2.5.14)

Repeal the table items, substitute:

2.5.9	Rotavirus
2.5.10	Rubella
2.5.11	Rubella—congenital
2.5.12	Tetanus
2.5.13	Varicella zoster infection—Chickenpox
2.5.14	Varicella zoster infection—Shingles
2.5.15	Varicella zoster infection—unspecified

2    Division 2.6 of Schedule 1 (table item 2.6.6)

Omit “Kunjin virus infection”, substitute “West Nile virus/Kunjin virus infection”.

3    Division 2.9 of Schedule 1 (heading)

Omit “Department of Health and Ageing”, substitute “Department of Health”.

4    Division 2.9 of Schedule 1 (table item 2.9.4)

Repeal the table item.

5    Division 2.9 of Schedule 1 (Note)

Omit “Department of Health and Ageing”, substitute “Department of Health”.
