REGULATIONS UNDER THE NATIONAL HEALTH ACT 1953-1956.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the National Health Act 1953-1956.

Amendment of the National Health Regulations. 

Commencement.

1. These Regulations shall be deemed to have come into operation on the first day of July, 1957.

2. Regulation 23 of the National Health Regulations is repealed and the following regulation inserted in its stead:—

Fees and allowances of members of Committees.

“23.—(1.) This regulation does not apply to a Chairman or a member of a Committee who is an officer of the Public Service of the Commonwealth or of a State.

“(2.) The Chairman of a Committee shall be paid a fee at the rate of Eight pounds eight shillings for each day on which he attends a meeting of the Committee.

“(3.) A member of a Committee, other than the Chairman, shall be paid a fee at the rate of Seven pounds seven shillings for each day on which he attends a meeting of the Committee.

“(4.) The Chairman of a Committee and a member of a Committee shall be paid an allowance of Five pounds five shillings for each day or part of a day during which he is necessarily absent from his usual place of residence overnight for the purpose of attending a meeting of a Committee.”.
