STATUTORY RULES.
REGULATION UNDER THE NATIONAL HEALTH ACT 1953-1961*

Regulation under the

Amendment of the National Health Regulations.
Regulation 23 of the National Health Regulations is repealed and the following regulation inserted in its stead:—
“23.—(1.) This regulation does not apply to a Chairman or a member of a Committee who is an officer of the Public Service of the Commonwealth or of a State.
“(2.) The Chairman or a member of a Committee who attends a meeting of a Committee shall be paid—
(
a ) in the case of the Chairman, a remuneration at the rate of Eight pounds eight shillings for each day on which he attends a meeting of the Committee; and(
b ) in the case of a member, a remuneration at the rate of Seven pounds seven shillings for each day on which he attends a meeting of the Committee.
“(3.) The Chairman or a member of a Committee who is necessarily absent from his home overnight in connexion with his attendance at a meeting of a Committee shall be paid a travelling allowance—
(
a ) at the daily rate of Five pounds five shillings for each complete day during which he is so absent; or(
b ) at an hourly rate that is one twenty-fourth part of the daily rate for each hour or part of an hour if the period during which he is so absent amounts to less than a day or consists of a day or number of days plus a number of hours.”.
