1  Name

(1)  This instrument is the National Health (Pharmaceutical Benefits—Therapeutic Groups) Determination 2020.

(2)This instrument may also be cited as PB 29 of 2020.

2  Commencement

(1)  Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

3  Authority

This instrument is made under subsection 84AG(1) of the National Health Act 1953.

4  Repeal of previous instrument

  The National Health (Pharmaceutical Benefits—Therapeutic Groups) Determination 2010 is repealed.

5  Definitions

In this Determination:

Act means the National Health Act 1953.

ATRA group means the Angiotensin II receptor antagonist group.

6  Therapeutic groups

For paragraph 84AG(1)(a) of the Act, a therapeutic group is a group mentioned in a Part of Schedule 1.

7  Drugs in therapeutic groups

For paragraph 84AG(1)(b) of the Act, each listed drug mentioned in a Part of Schedule 1 is in the therapeutic group mentioned in the Part.
