Where the letters ‘B.P.C.1954’ appear after the name of the pharmaceutical benefit or the additive, the standards of composition and purity are those constituted by the description of that pharmaceutical benefit and of its ingredients, or of that additive, as the case may be, in the edition of the book called the British Pharmaceutical Codex published by direction of the Council of the Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain in the year 1954.”.
