National Health (Indexation of concession or entitlement card fee) Amendment Determination 2018

National Health Act 1953

I, Natasha Ploenges, Acting Assistant Secretary, Pharmacy Branch, Department of Health and delegate of the Minister for Health, make this Determination under subsection 84HA(1) of the National Health Act 1953 (the Act), and having in accordance with subsection 84HA(2) of the Act obtained the agreement of the Pharmacy Guild of Australia.

1     Name of Instrument

(1)     This instrument is the National Health (Indexation of concession or entitlement card fee) Amendment Determination 2018).

(2)     This instrument may also be cited as PB 116 of 2018.

2     Commencement

(1)     Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table.  Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

3     Authority

This instrument is made under section 84HA of the National Health Act 1953.

Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items of the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1       Amendments

National Health (Concession or entitlement card fee) Determination 2012 (PB 102 of 2011)

1 Section 3

Repeal the section, substitute:

3Fee payable to approved pharmacist etc for issuing card

(1) For the purposes of section 84HA of the National Health Act 1953, the fee payable for the issue of a card of a kind mentioned in subsection (2) is $10.10

(2)  The kinds of cards are:

(a)  a safety net concession card;

(b)  a pharmaceutical benefits entitlement card; and

(c)  an additional or replacement card for a kind of card mentioned in paragraph (a) or (b).
