National Health and Medical Research Council Regulations 2(Amendment)

I, The ADMINISTRATOR of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the National Health and Medical Research Council Act 1992.

1.   Amendment

1.1   The National Health and Medical Research Council Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

[NOTE:

 These Regulations commence on gazettal: see Acts Interpretation Act 1901, s. 48.]

2.    Regulation 2 (Interpretation)

2.1   Subregulation 2 (2):

Omit “the Schedule.”, substitute “Schedule 1.”.

3.   Regulation 3 (Notices under sections 12, 13 and 14 of the Act)

3.1   Paragraphs 3 (1) (a), 2 (a), 3 (a), 4 (a) and 5 (a):

Omit “is to”, substitute “must”.

4. New

regulations 4 and 5

4.1   After regulation 3, insert:

Appointment of members of Council from prescribed bodies

“4.

For the purposes of subsection 21 (3) of the Act, the bodies mentioned in Column 3 of an item in Schedule 2 are prescribed as bodies of the kind mentioned in Column 2 of that item and referred to in the paragraph of the Act mentioned in Column 2 of that item.

Appointment of members of the Australian Health Ethics Committee from prescribed bodies

“5.

For the purposes of subsection 36 (6) of the Act, the bodies mentioned in Column 3 of an item in Schedule 3 are prescribed as bodies of the kind mentioned in Column 2 of that item and referred to in the paragraph of the Act mentioned in Column 2 of that item.”.

Omit:

substitute:
