An Act to amend the National Health Act 1953, and for related purposes

The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1Short title

This Act may be cited as the National Health Amendment (Immunisation) Act 2006.

2Commencement

This Act commences on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

3Schedule(s)

Each Act that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1Amendment

National Health Act 1953

Subsection 9B(1)

Repeal the subsection, substitute:

  1. (1)

    The Minister may provide, or arrange for the provision of:

    1. (a)

      designated vaccines; and

    2. (b)

      goods or services that are associated with, or incidental to, the provision or administration of designated vaccines.
