DETERMINATION UNDER SUBSECTION 84HA (1)

PB 128 of 2008

I, Susan Leigh Campion, Assistant Secretary, Community Pharmacy Branch, Department of Health and Ageing and delegate of the Minister for Health and Ageing, pursuant to subsection 84HA (1) of the National Health Act 1953, having in accordance with subsection 84HA (2) of the National Health Act 1953 obtained the agreement of the Pharmacy Guild of Australia, hereby make the following Determination:

  1. This Determination commences on 1 January 2009 and will cease to have effect at the end of 31 December 2009.

  1. This Determination revokes all previous Determinations made pursuant to subsection 84HA (1) of the National Health Act 1953.

  1. The amount payable by the Commonwealth to an approved pharmacist, an approved medical practitioner or an approved hospital authority in respect of each safety net concession card, each pharmaceutical benefits entitlement card, and each additional or replacement card in relation to any of those cards, issued in accordance with the relevant provisions of the National Health Act 1953 and the National Health (Pharmaceutical Benefits) Regulations 1960 by an approved pharmacist, an approved medical practitioner or an approved hospital authority from 1 January 2009 shall be $8.25.
