No. 32 of 1959.
AN ACT to amend the National Fitness Act, 1945.
[Assented to 30th October, 1959.]
BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Fitness Act Amendment Act, 1959.
(2) In this Act the National Fitness Act, 1945, is
referred to as the principal Act.
(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act
may be cited as the National Fitness Act, 1945-1959.

Subsection (3) of section four of the principal Act is amended by adding after the word, "Governor" being the last word in the subsection, the passage, "but any member so appointed on and after the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-nine, holds office for a period of five years from the date of his appointment as member."

Act is amended
| (a) | by adding after the subsection designation, "(2)" the paragraph designation, "(a)"; |
| (b) | by deleting the last four lines; and |
| (c) | by adding a paragraph as follows |
(b) The Minister may nominate: a Councillor to act as chairman at all meetings of the Council from which both the Chairman and Deputy Chairman are absent, and the Councillor when so nominated shall preside at those meetings and while so presiding he has all the powers of the Chairman.

(ga) with the written consent of the Minister and in his name to acquire, hold, lease, and alienate real property and to acquire, hold, hire, lend, and alienate personal property for the purpose of giving effect to the objects of this Act; .
