Part 1—Preliminary

1  Name

This instrument is the National Emergency Declaration Regulations 2020.

2  Commencement

(1)  Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

This instrument is made under the National Emergency Declaration Act 2020.

4  Definitions

In this instrument:

Act means the National Emergency Declaration Act 2020.

Part 2—Modification of administrative requirements during a national emergency

5 Laws that cannot be modified during a national emergency

For the purposes of paragraph 15(8)(h) of the Act, the following laws are prescribed:

(a)  the Australian Information Commissioner Act 2010;

(b)  the Freedom of Information Act 1982;

(c)  the Privacy Act 1988.
