National Crime Authority Regulations2

(Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the National Crime Authority Act 1984.

1. Commencement

1.1 These Regulations are to be taken to have commenced on 14 August 1990.

2. Amendments

2.1 The National Crime Authority Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

3. Regulation 9 (Salary payable to Chairman)

3.1 Insert “where the Chairman is not receiving salary as a Judge” after “Chairman”.

4. Regulation 10 (Allowances payable to Chairman)

4.1 Omit the regulation, substitute:

Allowances payable to Chairman

“10. For the purposes of subsection 38 (2) of the Act the following allowances are prescribed for the Chairman:

(a) where the Chairman is not receiving salary or annual allowances as a Judge:

(i) a travelling allowance equal to the travelling allowance payable from time to time to a Judge of the Federal Court; and

(ii) an annual expenses of office allowance equal to the annual expenses of office allowance payable from time to time to a Judge of the Federal Court; and

(iii) an annual displacement allowance of $50,000; or

(b) where the Chairman is receiving salary or annual allowances as a Judge but is not receiving a displacement allowance: an annual displacement allowance of $50,000.”.

5. Regulation 11 (Allowances payable to certain members)

5.1 Omit the regulation, substitute:

Allowances payable to a member other than the Chairman

“11. For the purposes of subsection 38 (2) of the Act, the following allowance is prescribed for a member other than the Chairman, namely, an annual displacement allowance of $30,000.”.
