An Act to sanction the const ruct ion of a line of Railway from Narrahri to Walget t , with b ranch to Collarendabri ; to amend the pro visions of the Public Works Act, 1900, so far as t h e y relate to the du ty of t he Const ruc t ing Author i ty to make and mainta in fences along the said line of rai lway ; to author ise the cons t ruc t ion of the said l ine on public roads ; and for o ther purposes. struct ion of a line of railway from N a r r a h r i to Walget t , with branch to Col larendabr i : And whereas on the pass ing of the said resolution a s ta tu tory duty was by the said Act imposed on the Secre tary for Public Works to introduce a Bill into the said Assembly to sanction the ca r ry ing out of the said work : Be it therefore enacted by the Queen 's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislat ive Council and Legislat ive Assembly of New South Wales in Pa r l i amen t assembled, and by the au thor i ty of the same, as follows:—
| 1. This Act may be cited as the " Nar rabr i Walget t and Col larendabri Rai lway Act, | 1900. ' ' |
2. The ca r ry ing out of the said work (more par t icular ly described in the Schedule to this Act) is hereby sanctioned; and the Secre tary for Public Works, or the member of the Executive Council for the time being per forming the duties of the said Secretary, is hereby authorised to under take and c a n y out the said work, subject to the provisions of this Act, and for that purpose shall be, and shall have the powers and duties of, a construct ing author i ty within the meaning of the Public Works Act, 1900.

3. The plan of the said work is the plan marked " Narrabr i to Walget t Railway, with Branch to Col la rendabr i , " signed by the Secre t a ry for Public Works, and countersigned by the Engineer-in-Chief for Rai lway Construction, and deposited in the public office of the said
4. The cost of ca r ry ing out the said work, est imated a t five hundred and three thousand five hundred and fifty-nine pounds, may be defrayed from such Loan Votes as a re now or may hereaf ter be applic able to that purpose, and shall not under any circumstances exceed the es t imated cost by more than ten per centum.
5. Notwi ths tanding the provisions of section one hundred and six of the Public Works Act, 1900, the Construct ing Author i ty shall not be required nor compelled, nor shall it be the duty of the said Author i ty to make or mainta in any fence along the said line of rai lway for the accommodation of any person or for any purpose whatsoever, but the said Author i ty may, in its discretion, make and mainta in such fences in connection with the said line of rai lway as it may think fit.
6. The said line of ra i lway may be constructed on or along or by the side of any public road or highway.

Narrabri to Walgett Railway, with a branch to Collarendabri.
T H I S l ine begins a t the west end of N a r r a b r i West s ta t ion, a t two hundred and fifty-two miles th i r teen cha ins from Newcastle , and proceeds more or less parallel to and south of the N a m o i River a t Wee Waa . H e r e it crosses the river, and follows a course general ly parallel to P i a n Creek, to wi th in twenty miles of Walge t t , where, after passing through E u r i e E u r i e , the l ine t e rmina tes a t the nor the rn side of the Namoi River , a t three hundred and fifty-six miles seventy-two chains forty-five l inks from Newcas t le ; being a d is tance of one hundred and four miles fifty-nine chains forty-five l inks.
The branch to Col larendabri leaves the l ine described above at Bur ren , a t three hundred and two miles thir ty-s ix chains eighteen l inks from Newcastle , and takes a nor th-nor th-wester ly direct ion to Thalaba Creek, after crossing which it follows generally the boundary between the counties of D e n h a m and Benarba , and crossing the Barwon River reaches Col larendabri a t three hundred and fifty-three miles th i r ty-e ight cha ins n ine ty l inks from Newcastle , being a dis tance of fifty-one miles two chains seventy-two l inks.
