MUTUAL RECOGNITION (WESTERN AUSTRALIA) AMENDMENT ACT 1997

AN ACT to amend the Mutual Recognition (Western

Australia) Act 1995.

[Assented to 10 December 1997.]

The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows:

Short title

1.   This Act may be cited as the Mutual Recognition (Western

Australia) Amendment Act 1997.

Commencement

2. This Act comes into operation on the day on which it

receives the Royal Assent.

Principal Act

3. In this Act the Mutual Recognition (Western Australia)

Act 1995* is referred to as the principal Act.

Section 3 amended

4. (1) Section 3 (1) of the principal Act is amended in the definition of ‘‘termination day’’ by deleting ‘‘1998’’ and substituting the following —

‘‘ 1999 ’’.

(2)

Section 3 (2) of the principal Act is amended by deleting

‘‘1998’’ and substituting the following —

‘‘ 1999 ’’.

(3)

Section 3 (3) of the principal Act is repealed.

Section 6 repealed

5.   Section 6 of the principal Act is repealed.
