Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences Regulation 2007 (NSW)
Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences Act 1945.
Minister for the Arts
This Regulation is the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences Regulation 2007.
This Regulation commences on 1 September 2007.
This Regulation replaces the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences Regulation 2002 which is repealed on 1 September 2007 under section 10 (2) of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1989.
In this Regulation:
Notes included in this Regulation do not form part of this Regulation.
Ordinary meetings are to be held at times determined by the President, or if the President so agrees, at times determined by the trustees.
Special meetings may be called at the request of the Director, the President or any 3 trustees.
The trustees are to be given at least 3 days’ notice of:
(a) the day, time and place of each meeting, and
(b) the business to be considered at the meeting.
If the quorum for a meeting is not present within 15 minutes after the time specified in the notice calling the meeting, the meeting is to be adjourned to a day to be specified by the trustee or trustees then present.
If there are no trustees present within 15 minutes after the time specified in the notice calling the meeting, the business of the meeting is to stand adjourned until the next meeting.
Clause 6 applies in relation to an adjourned meeting in the same way as it applies to any other meeting.
The Director has the right to attend any meeting of the trustees and to be heard on any matter before the meeting.
The trustees may appoint committees in relation to any aspect of the Museum’s activities and may appoint a member of any such committee as the senior member of the committee.
The President and the Director are, by virtue of holding office as such, members of any committee so appointed.
The President has the right to preside at any meeting of a committee.
If the President is absent or declines to preside:
(a) the senior member of the committee is to preside, or
(b) if the senior member is absent or declines to preside, another member of the committee (appointed by and from the members present) is to preside.
The Director is responsible to the trustees for the administration and management of the Museum and for any services provided in connection with the Museum.
The Director is to furnish the trustees, at such times as they may determine, with a report on the activities of the Museum and its staff.
The Director may permit an object that is held by the Museum to be lent to any other person or body.
Objects may not be lent otherwise than in accordance with this clause.
The Director may accept an object on loan from any other person or body.
The Museum is to be open to the public on such days and at such times as the trustees may from time to time determine.
Any act, matter or thing that, immediately before the repeal of the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences Regulation 2002, was done for the purposes of, or had effect under, that Regulation is taken to have been done for the purposes of, or continues to have effect under, this Regulation.
