nication on the River Murray, a traffic hath arisen between this Province and the Colonies of New South Wales and Victoria, and goods liable to the payment of duty in this Provincc and in the said Colonies respectively, arc imported into this Province, and are conveyed to and landed in such Colonies, for the purpose of consumption there: And whereas, in order to prevent the interruption to such traffic which would arise from the levying of duties upon such goods at the respective places in the said Colonies whereat thc same may be landed, arrangements have been entered into between the respective Governments of this Province and of the said Colonies, that all duties to bc paid in respect of the same goods should be collected by the Officcrs of Customs of this Province, according to the scale of duties leviable thereon in this Province, and that the amount of such duties should be paid over to the respective Governments of the said Colonies, in certain pro- portions: And whereas, in pursuance of such arrangement, various duties have been collected in this Province upon goods imported liable to duty, which have been afterwards conveyed to the said Colonies respectively, for consumption there: And whereas it is expedient to authorize and sanction the payment of the duties so collected, to the aaid respective Governments of the said Colonics, and also to provide for the collection and distribution of duties in respect of a11 goods liable to duty, as hereinafter mentioned, which may hereafter be imported into this Province for consumption in the said Colonies,

to duty in the Colonics of New South Wales and Victoria respectively, which shall have been imported by way of the said Hiver Murray into the said Colonies of New South Wales and Victoria, or cither of them; and such warrant, and the receipt of any person authorized by the Governor-in-Chic of the said Colonies respectively to receive the same, shall be a sufficient discharge to the person paying any sums rncntioned in such warrant and receipt.

I t shall be lawful for the Governor, wit,h the advice of the regulations for the entry oatmards of all goods liable to duty which shall be intended to be imported into the said Coloni~s, or either of thcm, by way of the said Rivcr, and for the duc discharge of such goods beyond the boundaries of this Province, and for all such other matters as may be requisite for the due collection of and accounting for all duties payable upon or in respect of such goods.

3. All acts heretofore clone, and all payments heretofore made to the said Governments of the said Colonies, or either of them, Fy or by authority of the Governor, under and in pursuance of the said arrangement for the collection and payment of duties upon goods imported into the said Colonies by way of the said River Mnrrap, shall have the same force and validity as though such acts had bcen Clone or payments made subsequent to the passing of this Act.
