AN ACT to amend section twelve and section fourteen of the Murdoch University Act, 1973-1977.

[Assented to 15th May, 1978.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Murdoch Short titie .

In this Act the Murdoch University Act, 1973- Act No. 20 of

1973,

as

1977, is referred to as the principal Act.

Section 12

amended.

2. Section 12 of the principal Act is amended

(a)

as to paragraph (g) of subsection (1), by deleting the word "four" in line one of that paragraph and substituting the word "six";

(b)

by deleting paragraph (h) of subsection (1); and

(c)

as to paragraph (b) of subsection (2), by deleting the passage "paragraph (h) or", in line three, and substituting the word "paragraph".

Section 14

amended.

3. Section 14 of the principal Act is amended

(a) as to subsection (1)-

(i)   by deleting the passage ", other than a person appointed under paragraph (h) of subsection (1) of section 12," in lines two, three and four of paragraph (b);

(ii)   by deleting the passage "one further term of three years", in the last two lines of paragraph (b), and substi- tuting the passage "two further such terms of three years each"; and

(iii)    by deleting paragraph (c); and

(b)

by deleting the word "two", in line two of subsection (2), and substituting the word "three".
