Act N o . 75 , 1980 .

An Act to amend the Municipal Council of Sydney Electric Lighting Act, 1896, with respect to variations in electricity charges. [Assented to, 29th April, 1980.)

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—

1. This Act may be cited as the "Municipal Council of Sydney

Electric Lighting (Amendment) Act, 1980".

2 .       The Municipal Council of Sydney Electric Lighting Act,

1896, is amended by inserting after section 27 (2) the following

subsection : —

(3) Subsection ( 1 ) docs not prevent the Council from charging different rates for electricity supplied to persons in different parts of its area where it does so solely by reason of a variation of the scale of rates charged for electricity and the scale, as varied, is to be applied uniformly throughout its area.
