Mount Read and Rosebery Mines Limited Leases Act (Repeal) Act 1999

An Act to repeal the Mount Read and Rosebery Mines Limited Leases Act 1916

Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:

1Short titleThis Act may be cited as the Mount Read and Rosebery Mines Limited Leases Act (Repeal) Act 1999 . 2CommencementThis Act commences on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent. 3InterpretationIn this Act – commencement day means the day on which this Act commences; Pasminco means Pasminco Australia Ltd; repealed Act means the Mount Read and Rosebery Mines Limited Leases Act 1916 . 4Mining tenementsThe following rights and entitlements held by Pasminco and in force under the repealed Act immediately before the commencement day are, on that day, mining leases under the Mineral Resources Development Act 1995 : (a) mining lease 9M/91 of 78 hectares at Zeehan; (b) mining lease 28M/93 of 4906 hectares at Rosebery; (c) mining easement 4W/77 of 3 hectares at Zeehan. 5Water licencesThe following water licences held by Pasminco and in force under the repealed Act immediately before the commencement day are, on that day, to cease: (a) water licence 2726/W, of 5 sluiceheads at Rosebery; (b) water licence 2727/W, of 12 sluiceheads at Rosebery. 6Administration of ActUntil provision is made in relation to this Act by order under section 4 of the Administrative Arrangements Act 1990  – (a) the administration of this Act is assigned to the Minister for Infrastructure, Energy and Resources; and (b) the department responsible to the Minister for Infrastructure, Energy and Resources in relation to the administration of this Act is the Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources. 7Mount Read and Rosebery Mines Limited Leases Act 1916 repealedThe Mount Read and Rosebery Mines Limited Leases Act 1916 is repealed.
