An Act to amend the Motor Vehicles (Third Party Insurance) Act, 1942,

consequent upon the enactment of the Recreation Vehicles Act, 1983.

Motor Vehicles (Third Party Insurance) (Recreation Vehicles) Amendment.

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title.

This Act may be cited as the "Motor Vehicles (Third Party Insurance) (Recreation Vehicles) Amendment Act, 1983".

Commencement.

2. (1) Except as provided by subsections (2) and (3), this Act shall commence on the date of assent to this Act.

(2) Section 3 shall commence on the day appointed and notified under section 2 (2) of the Recreation Vehicles Act, 1983.

(3) Section 4 and Schedule 1 shall commence on such day as may be appointed by the Governor in respect thereof and as may be notified by proclamation published in the Gazette, being a day not earlier than the day appointed and notified under section 2 (2) of the Recreation Vehicles Act, 1983.

Amendment of Act No. 15, 1942.

3. The Motor Vehicles (Third Party Insurance) Act, 1942, is amended "as amended by subsequent Acts" and by inserting instead the words "but	by omitting from the definition of "Public street" in section 5 ( 1 ) the words
does not include a recreation vehicle area within the meaning of the Recrea- tion Vehicles Act, 1983".
Further amendment of Act No. 15. 1942.

The Motor Vehicles (Third Party insurance) Act, 1942, as amended by section 3, is further amended in the manner set forth in Schedule 1.

AMENDMENTS TO THE MOTOR VEHICLES (THIRD PARTY INSURANCE) ACT,

1942.

(1) Section 5 ( 1 ) , definitions of "Public street", "Registered"—

Omit the definitions, insert instead:—

"Public street" means—

(a)	a public street within the meaning of the Motor Traffic Act, 1909; or
(b)	a recreation vehicle area within the meaning of the Recreation Vehicles Act, 1983.

"Registered" means registered under the Motor Traffic Act, 1909, the Transport Act, 1930, or the Recreation Vehicles Act, 1983.

(2) Section 12 (3 )—

Omit "as amended by subsequent Acts", insert instead "or the

Recreation Vehicles Act, 1983".
