Part 1—Preliminary

1—Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Speed Limits on Beaches) Amendment Regulations 2023.

2—Commencement

These regulations come into operation on the day on which the Road Traffic (Road Rules—Ancillary and Miscellaneous Provisions) (Speed Limits on Beaches) Amendment Regulations 2023 come into operation.

3—Amendment of Schedule 4—Demerit points

Schedule 4, clause 6, table—after the item relating to regulation 8(2) insert:

8A(1)

Speeding while driving on beach

Exceeding a prescribed speed limit (beaches)—

by less than 10 kph

2

by 10 kph or more but less than 20 kph

3

by 20 kph or more but less than 30 kph

5

by 30 kph or more
