Part 1—Preliminary

1—Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Simplify) Variation Regulations 2016.

2—Commencement

These regulations will come into operation 4 months after the day on which they are made (see Subordinate Legislation Act 1978 section 10AA).

3—Variation provisions

In these regulations, a provision under a heading referring to the variation of specified regulations varies the regulations so specified.

Part 2—Variation of Motor Vehicles Regulations 2010

4—Substitution of regulation 13

Regulation 13—delete the regulation and substitute:

13—Report required before registration of new vehicles—prescribed particulars

A report required under section 23A of the Act in relation to a new motor vehicle must contain the following particulars:

(a)the name of the person who completed the report;

(b)the vehicle identification number of the vehicle;

(c)the month and year of manufacture of the vehicle;

(d)the make of the vehicle;

(e)in the case of a motor vehicle other than a caravan or trailer—the body type and engine number of the vehicle.

5—Variation of Schedule 1—Fees

Schedule 1, clause 38—delete "or voluntary alcohol interlock scheme conditions"
