An Act to Amend "The Motor Vehicles Insurance Acts. 1936 to 1945/' in certain particulars. 1959.] [A ssented to 22 nd D ecember , X) E it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, JD by and with the advice and consent of the Legis lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:— Short title. 1. (1.) This Act may be cited as “ The Motor Vehicles Insurance Acts Amendment Act of 1959.” Principal (2.) “ The Motor Vehicles Insurance Acts , 1936 to Act. 1945,” are in this Act, referred to as the Principal Act. Collective (3.) The Principal Act and this Act may be title. collectively cited as “ The Motor Vehicles Insurance Acts, 1936 to 1959.” Commence *(4.) This Act shall come into force on a date to be mtheisntAocft. fixed by the Governor in Council by Proclamation published in the Gazette.* * Commenced 1 Apr. 1960. (Proc. pubd. Gaz. 27 Feb. I960, p. 1077).

Section two of the Principal Act is amended— Amendment* (a) By repealing the definition “ Motor vehicle ” ’ ’ and inserting, in lieu of that repealed definition, the following definition “ “ Motor vehicle ”—Any vehicle propelled by Mo*» gas, motor spirit, oil, electricity, steam or vehiole‘ any other motive power: the term includes a tractor, trailer, motor bicycle or motor cycle, but does not include a railway or tramway locomotive, tram motor, tram car, trolley bus, fire engine, fire reel, or any machinery especially designed for road-making ; (b) By inserting before the definition “ Trailer ” the following definition:— ““Tractor”—A power-driven vehicle used or Tractor, intended to be used for haulage purposes but not built to carry passengers or loads other than fuel or water for its own consumption, but not including any such vehicle which is driven by steam power
