E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authoritJ: of the same, as follows:- :d Short title 1. This Act may be cited as "The Motor Vehicles st t' Insurance Act Amendment Act of 1939," and shall be n ruc IOn. read as one with *" The Motor Vehicles Insurance Act of 1936," hereinafter referred to as the Principal Act. Collective The Principal Act and this Act may be collectively title. cited as "The Motor Vehicles Insurance Acts, 1936 to 1939." Amendments of the Principal Act. Amendment 2. Section three of the Principal Act IS hereby ofs.3. amended as follows:- (a) The word" or" is added to paragraph (b) of subsection one thereof. (b) The words and brackets" (not being a person excepted by subsection one of this section)" are inserted after the word "person" where such lastmentioned word first occurs in subsection two thereof, and the following paragraph is added to the said subsection two, namely:- " Provided that if at the time when any such claim arose the motor vehicle was in charge of or being driven by any person for whose acts or omissions at such time the owner apart from the provisions of this subsection would not have been liable, the liability of the owner under this subsection shall be limited to the amount for which he shall be entitled to be indemnified against such claim under the said contract." * 1 Edw.
