Motor Vehicle Standards Act 1989 . Dated 24 July 2000

These Regulations are the
Motor Vehicle Standards Amendment Regulations 2000 (No. 1) .
These Regulations commence on gazettal.
Schedule 1 amends the Motor Vehicle Standards Regulations.
(1) Regulation 9H of the Motor Vehicle Standards Regulations, as in force immediately before the commencement of these Regulations, continues to apply to an application to import a nonstandard road vehicle if:
(a) the application was made before 8 May 2000; or
(b) the application was not made before 8 May 2000, but the vehicle was owned by the applicant before 8 May 2000 and the application is made before 8 August 2000.
(2) Regulation 9I of the Motor Vehicle Standards Regulations, as in force immediately before the commencement of these Regulations, continues to apply to an approval given under regulation 9H of those Regulations, whether or not the approval was given before the commencement of these Regulations.

(i) for a vehicle owned by the applicant on or before 8 May 2000 — 3 months; or
(ii) for a vehicle to which subparagraph (i) does not apply but for which the application is made on or before 8 November 2000 — 3 months; or
(iii) in any other case — 12 months; and
