MOTOR VEHICLE REPAIRS ACT 1980-REGULATION

(Relating to fees)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Motor Vehicle Repairs Act 1980, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement

1. This Regulation commences on 14 February 1994.

Amendments

2. The Motor Vehicle Repairs Regulation 1982 is amended:

(a)

byomittingfromclause 4 (3)(a)(i)the matter “$168”andby inserting instead the matter “$182”;

(b)

byomittingfrom clause 4(3)(a)(ii)the matter “$264”andby inserting instead the matter “$285”;

(c)

byomitting from clause 4 (3)(b)the matter “$116”andby inserting instead the matter “$125”;

(d)

byomittingfrom clause 4(3)(c)and(d)the matter “$36” wherever occurring and by inserting instead the matter “$39”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is:

(a)

toincrease the fee for a newapplication for a licence under the Motor Vehicles Repairs Act 1980 to carry out motor vehicle repair work:

• from $168 to $182. in the case of an applicant who is a former

licensee whose licence has lapsed within the previous 12 months;

and

• from $264 to $285. in any other case; and

(b) toincreasethe annual fee for such a licence from $116to$125;and
(c) toincrease the application fees for a tradesman’s certificate anda loss assessor’s certificate from $36 to $39.

This Regulation is made under the Motor Vehicle Repairs Act 1980, including sections 17 (5) and 21 (4) (as continued in operation by Schedule 2 to the Business Licences Act 1990 and an order under Part 2 of that Schedule published in Gazette No. 45 dated 15 March 1991 p. 2122) and sections 24 (2) and 30 (2).
