His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Motor Vehicle Repairs Act 1980.

Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to amend the Motor Vehicle Repairs
Regulation 1982 so as:

(a) to increase the fee for an application for a licence:

(i) from $190 to $200 where the applicant is a former licensee

whose licence has lapsed within the previous 12 months,

(ii) from $298 to $313 in any other case,

(b) to increase the annual renewal fee for a licence from $130 to $137,

and

(c) to increase the fee for a tradesman’s certificate from $41 to $43. including sections 17 (5) and 21 (4) (as continued in operation by Schedule 2 to the Business Licences Act 1990 and an order under Part 2 of that Schedule published in Gazette No 45 dated 15 March 1991, p. 2122), 24 (2) and 89 (the general regulation making power).

1 Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Motor Vehicle Repairs (Amendment)

Regulation 1997.

2 Commencement

This Regulation commences on 28 February 1997.

3     Amendment of Motor Vehicle Repairs Regulation 1982

The Motor Vehicle Repairs Regulation 1982 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.
