MOTOR TRAFFIC REGULATIONS.!
REGULATIONS 1960. No. 2.§
1. Regulation 5 of the Motor Traffic Regulations is amended by omit- Definitions,
ting the definitions of " omnibus stop " and " the City Area ".
2. Regulation 13 of the Motor Traffic Regulations is amended by omit- Prohibitions

3. After regulation 13 of the Motor Traffic Regulations the following
regulation is inserted:—

(a) the erection, on or as near as practicable to the kerb on the ™°p°r o m m u*
same side of a public street, of two signs each bearing the
words ' Bus Stop '; and
(b) the placing on the carriageway of lines which, with the part of the kerb between, two signs erected in pursuance of the last preceding paragraph, mark off an area of the public street adjacent to that part of the kerb.

" (2.) The area of a public street marked off in pursuance of the last preceding sub-regulation is, for the purposes of this regulation, an omnibus stopping place.
" (3.) The driver of a motor vehicle, other than a motor omnibus, shall not, in a public street, stop the motor vehicle, or leave the motor vehicle standing, so that any part of it is within an omnibus stopping place. Penalty: Twenty-five pounds.

§ Made under the Motor Traffic Ordinance 1936-1959 on 23rd March, 1960, notified in the
880 MOTOR TRAFFIC ORDINANCE—
" (4.) In a prosecution for an offence against the last preceding sub- regulation, evidence that two signs, each bearing the words ' Bus Stop', were on or near the kerb on the same side of a public street, and that lines were placed on the carriageway of the public street marking off, with the part of the kerb between those signs, an area of the public street adjacent to that part of the kerb is, unless the contrary is proved, evidence that the signs were erected, and that the lines were placed, in accordance with the authority of the Minister under sub-regulation (1.) of this regulation.".
