His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following

Regulation under the Motor Sports (World Rally Championship) Act 2009.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to make further provision with respect to the application of the Roads Act 1993 and instruments made under that Act in relation to rally events and areas subject to certain modifications that facilitate the conduct of those events.

This Regulation is made under the Motor Sports (World Rally Championship) Act 2009, including sections 17 and 24 (the general regulation-making power).

1 Name of Regulation
This Regulation is the Motor Sports (World Rally Championship) Amendment
Regulation 2016.

2 Commencement
This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.

3 Amendment of Motor Sports (World Rally Championship) Regulation 2014
Clause 4 Certain provisions of roads legislation apply to rally events and areas: section 17
Insert after clause 4 (1) (b):

(b1) Division 4 of Part 8 of the Roads Act 1993 is modified by
inserting the following at the end of that Division:

123A Application of Part to World Rally
Championship
In this Part, a reference to:

(a) the Minister is taken to include a reference to the Minister administering the Motor Sports (World Rally Championship) Act 2009, and
(b) a roads authority is taken to include a reference to a rally promoter in relation to a public road within the declared rally area for the conduct of a rally event (within the meaning of those terms in the Motor Sports (World Rally Championship) Act 2009) or the carrying out of any related works or activities (including the reinstatement of land as referred to in that Act).
