Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Motor Sports (World Rally Championship) Act 2009.

Explanatory note
Section 4 of the Motor Sports (World Rally Championship) Act 2009 provides that the Minister may declare an area, within a region of the State prescribed by the regulations (a prescribed rally region), as the area within which a round of the motor sport known as the World Rally Championship may be conducted.

The object of this Regulation is to amend the Motor Sports (World Rally Championship) Regulation 2009 to prescribe the region comprising the local government areas of Bellingen, Clarence Valley, Coffs Harbour City, Kempsey and Nambucca as a prescribed rally region. This Regulation is made under the Motor Sports (World Rally Championship) Act 2009, including sections 4 and 24 (the general regulation-making power).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Motor Sports (World Rally Championship)
Amendment Regulation 2011.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the
NSW legislation website.

3 Amendment of Motor Sports (World Rally Championship) Regulation 2009

Clause 5

Insert after clause 4:

5      Prescribed regions for section 4 of Act

For the purposes of section 4 of the Act, the region comprising the following local government areas is prescribed:

(a)	Bellingen,
(b)	Clarence Valley,
(c)	Coffs Harbour City,
(d)	Kempsey,
(e)	Nambucca.

Note. Section 4 of the Act provides that the Minister may, by order, declare any area within the Northern Rivers Region, or within any other region of the State prescribed by the regulations, as the area within which a rally event may be conducted.
