Motor Omnibus Services Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, GORDON GLEN DENTON SCHOLES, the Minister of State for Territories, hereby make the following Regulations under the Motor Omnibus Services Ordinance 1955.

Interpretation

1. Regulation 3 of the Motor Omnibus Services Regulations is amended—

(a)by inserting after the definition of “authorized officer” in sub-regulation (1) the following definition:

“ ‘blind person’ means a person who is totally or partially blind;”;

(b)by omitting from sub-regulation (1) the definition of “Department”;

(c)by omitting from sub-regulation (1) the definition of “period ticket” and substituting the following definition:

“ ‘period ticket’ means a ticket sold pursuant to an arrangement made under section 4B of the Ordinance, being a ticket that entitles a person to travel on a motor omnibus on a day or during a period to which the ticket is expressed to be applicable;”; and

(d)by omitting from sub-regulation (1) the definition of “Secretary” and substituting the following definition:

“ ‘Secretary’ means Secretary to the Department;”.

Regulation 16—repeal

2.  Regulation 16 of the Motor Omnibus Services Regulations is repealed.

3.  After regulation 36 of the Motor Omnibus Services Regulations the following regulation is inserted:

Removal, &c., of section sign

“36A.  A person shall not remove, move, damage, deface, obscure, cover up or otherwise interfere with a section sign unless he or she is acting under the authority of the Minister.”.
