An Ordinance to amend the Motor Omnibus Services Ordinance (No. 2) 1955.

Short title

1.  This Ordinance may be cited as the Motor Omnibus Services (Amendment) Ordinance (No. 2) 1985.1

Principal Ordinance

2.  In this Ordinance, “Principal Ordinance” means the Motor Omnibus Services Ordinance 1955.2

Interpretation

3.  Section 2 of the Principal Ordinance is amended—

(a)by inserting after the definition of “Director” in sub-section (1) the following definition:

“ ‘holiday’ means a day that is, pursuant to the Holidays Ordinance 1958, to be observed as a public holiday in the Territory;”; and

(b)by inserting after the definition of “ ‘motor omnibus’ or ‘omnibus’” in sub-section (1) the following definition:

“ ‘peak-period journey’ means a journey commencing not later than 9 a.m. on a day other than a Saturday, Sunday or holiday;”.

4.  Section 4BA of the Principal Ordinance is amended—

(a)by omitting from sub-section (4) “at any time”; and

(b)by inserting in sub-section (4) “on a journey (not being a peak-period journey) on that omnibus” after “travel”.
