I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Ordinance under the Seat of Government (Administration) Act 1910.

An Ordinance to amend the Motor Omnibus Services Ordinance 1955
Short title
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Motor Omnibus Services
(Amendment) Ordinance 1983}
Principal Ordinance
2. In this Ordinance, "Principal Ordinance" means the Motor Omnibus
Services Ordinance 1955}

Interpretation
3. Section 2 of the Principal Ordinance is amended—
| (a) | by inserting after the definition of "child" in sub-section (1) the following definitions: |
" 'Department' means the Department of State of the Commonwealth that is administered by the Minister for the time being administering this Ordinance;
'dependent spouse' means the dependent spouse of a person to whom there is being paid a benefit under Part VII of the Social Security Act 1947;
'Director' means the person occupying, or performing the duties
of, the office of Director, Operations Section, Public Transit

(b) by inserting after the definition of "school student" in sub-section (1) the following definition: " 'special beneficiary' means a person to whom there is being paid a special benefit under section 124 of the Social Security Act
1947;"; and
(c) by omitting from sub-section (1) the definition of "the Director". Weekly tickets
4. Section 4BB of the Principal Ordinance is amended—
(a) by omitting from paragraph (1) (0 "and"; and (b)
by omitting paragraph (1) (g) and substituting the following paragraphs:
"(g) unemployed persons;
(h) special beneficiaries; and(i) dependent spouses.".

5. Section 4CB of the Principal Ordinance is amended—
(a) by omitting from paragraph (1) (f) "and"; and (b)
by omitting paragraph (1) (g) and substituting the following paragraphs:
"(g) unemployed persons;
(h) special beneficiaries; and(i) dependent spouses.".
